Certified master of SANUKI KAGARI TEMARI. Born in Kan-onji city in Kagawa. In spite of her previous career as a metal-chaser, Eiko quite naturally took up her path as a thread-ball craftsman, after being taught of its technique as well as the charm by her parents-in-law. Currently she is a leading member of SANUKI KAGARI TEMARI Preservation Association, and actively engages herself in teaching TEMARI crafting and promotion of the culture through exhibitions and seminars.
Besides passing down the tradition of thread-ball, Eiko also spends time crafting her original thread-balls with a contemporary touch. Her first exhibition as a thread-ball artist was held in ISETAN Shinjuku, in 2015 May.
